Dr Jacquie Chirgwin
Jacquie Chirgwin initially trained in the UK, and moved to Australia in 1985. Since 1990 she has been a Medical Oncologist at Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals in Melbourne, specializing in Breast Cancer since 2002. One of her main areas of interest is the multidisciplinary team care of patients with advanced breast cancer.
She has had a major commitment to clinical trials for more than 20 years including as leader of Breast Oncology Research at Eastern Health; as a collaborator in local service provision research with colleagues from Deakin University; as past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Australia & New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZBCTG) and as a member of its Scientific Advisory Committees and that of the International Breast Cancer Study Group.
Even a short biography is not complete without mention of her passion for gardens, and her slowly developing new expertise in garden design.
