Ms Amanda Fairclough
Mandy Fairclough has been working as a Psychologist for 19 years, holding a variety of specialist posts across a number of clinical areas including Disability Services and Child and Family. Since 2008, Mandy has been the Senior Psychologist for the Centre for Breast Health at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Her role has expanded over the last two years within Cancer Care, to include services for patients who are diagnosed with other tumours including lung, brain, and pancreatic cancers. Mandy’s specific areas of interest include supporting patients through their breast cancer treatment, and the psychological adjustment and support of patients with a BRCA mutation who undergo bilateral prophylactic mastectomy. Mandy’s postgraduate research focussed on the partner experience following a BRCA mutation. Mandy also enjoys her role as co-facilitator in the Communicating and Responding Empathically (CARE) Program for Cancer Care Health Professionals in Queensland.
